In the shadows of the setting sun
The dark creeps in - the day is done.
And the coolness of the evening breeze
Brings solace to the light-drenched trees.
And through the woods, a calmness grows
As if the forest surely knows
The lady of the darkling night
Will visit there with aura bright.
Ah, lady of this velvet night
Let us gaze up on your sight
To bow before thee to declare
That in the blackness you are there.
For in the darkness all things grow;
This womb of Earth as we do know
Will birth the leaf, the bird, the man
For from the dark all things began.
And as we sing this paean of praise
We know our Earth still yet obeys
The laws that govern cosmic space
Where you dwell alive in grace.
